新刊IET Smart Cities征稿进行时

智慧城市是指利用各种信息技术或创新意念，集成城市的组成系统和服务，以提升资源运用的效率，优化城市管理和服务，以及改善市民生活质量。新一代跨学科的信息和通信技术(ICT)被越来越多地应用于打造智能和大规模系统。物联网、5G、数据分析、智能传感器和人工智能等ICT技术进一步加速了未来智慧城市的实现。按照设想，智慧城市可以解决交通拥堵、空气污染、健康危害、自然灾害等紧迫的生活问题，以期改善生活质量、公共安全、公用设施和住房。

IET Smart Cities是一份黄金开放获取期刊，聚焦于有关智慧城市信息和通信技术(ICT)的最新进展。本刊涉及智慧城市的标准、技术、系统、研究、实施、部署、应用、基准和政策，并将涵盖智慧城市的各个方面，例如智慧健康、交通、能源、住宅、生活、环境等等。本刊并不包含土木和机械工程领域。

Prof. William Webb, Webb Consulting Ltd UK

William Webb教授，英国 Webb咨询有限公司

William Webb教授是Webb Search的独立顾问，也是物联网技术标准化机构The Weightless SIG的首席执行官。他是Neul公司——一家开发机器-机器技术和网络公司成立于2011年，后出售给了华为）的创始董事之一。在此之前，他曾任职Ofcom公司总监，管理提供技术咨询和研究的团队。他服务过多家通信咨询公司，曾在芝加哥为摩托罗拉整个通信产品线提供了为期3年的战略管理。Webb教授于2014-2015期间担任IET 主席一职。他出版过16本书、100篇论文，并持有18项专利。他是南安普敦大学的客座教授，英国皇家工程院院士、IEEE以及IET会士。他曾多次获得英国一流大学授予的荣誉博士学位，并于2018年凭借在技术创业方面的杰出表现荣获了IET Mountbatten 卓著奖章。

Prof. Chai K Toh, GLG group, USA

Chai K Toh教授，美国GLG集团

Chai K. Toh教授曾任新加坡资讯通讯发展管理局助理行政总裁兼集团首席技术官、新加坡能源电讯公司的副总裁/首席技术官，并领导了新加坡智慧国家项目——即智慧能源、智慧市政服务及智慧家计划。他是美国智慧城市委员会的顾问、美国TRW Systems 公司的研发总监、美国ALICO Systems 公司的首席技术顾问。现为台湾清华大学资讯工程学院荣誉首席教授、并任美国GLG集团物联网与智慧城市专委会专家。2009年获得IET Ambrose Fleming Medal，2005年获得IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award，1996年获取英国剑桥大学计算机科学博士学位，1991年获取UMIST授予的电子工程学士学位。Chai K. Toh教授发表了100多篇论文，其中包括1997年出版的著作《Wireless ATM and Ad Hoc Networks》。他也是Prentice Hall 2001年出版的畅销著作《Ad Hoc Mobile Wireless Networks》的作者。他是IET、IEEE、BCS和AAAS的会士。
